FPL GW4 🦁

Let’s get straight into it.

🎯 Best fixtures & players to target for GW4

Best offensive fixtures ⏩️

Manchester City at home against Fulham

  • Although City vs. Sheffield was no blow-out last weekend, the Etihad has become a tough place to visit in recent seasons.

  • City tend to score (a LOT) at home, and Fulham will be without Calvin Bassey— though Tim Ream will return in his stead.

  • The biggest thing to look out for is if Joao Palhinha transfers to Bayern Munich before Friday’s deadline— without him, this will be a rout for City… it could be with him as well.

Tottenham away to Burnley

  • Spurs are creating chances for fun this season with Ange at the helm & James Maddison dictating play. Expecting 2-3 goals from Spurs in this fixture.

  • Burnley have been fairly toothless in matches (albeit difficult ones) against City & Villa this season. They will have a point to prove.

Brentford at home against Bournemouth

  • Brentford have had a great start to the season besides their draw to Crystal Palace at home.

  • Even without Ivan Toney, they have been creating plenty of chances & conceding few. Take a look at this graph here ⤵️

  • Bournemouth, on the other hand, have been conceding some of the most chances in the league throughout the first 3 GWs.

West Ham away to Luton

  • Moyes’ men have been in red-hot form to start the season, scoring 7 & conceding 3 through their first 3 matches. 🥵

  • Luton, on the other hand, have been nothing short of abysmal. They are a defense that everyone should be targeting in FPL— conceding 7 in 2 matches.

  • Expect the Hammers to strike the iron while it’s hot. ⚒️ 🔥

Best defensive fixtures ⏪️

Manchester City at home against Fulham

  • Let us again refer to the chart of xG for & xG against so far this season 👇️

    • Yes, that’s Fulham all the way down there with Luton & Burnley

Crystal Palace at home against Wolves

  • Palace have only conceded 2 goals in 3 matches so far this season, and you can see on the chart above that they don’t concede great chances either. Hodgson’s way! 🔒️ 💎

    • They have the 4th-lowest xG against this season.

  • On top of that, Wolves are extremely dangerous on the counter attack but have been quite terrible at finishing their chances.

    • They have scored 2 goals in 3 matches, with a negative xG difference per 90 minutes so far this season.

Brentford at home against Bournemouth

  • Refer to chart above! 🐝

  • Brentford have conceded 2 goals to Spurs & 1 to Crystal Palace, this weekend’s matchup vs. Bournemouth at home is still quite favorable.

Best players 🏃

Forwards

  • Erling Haaland— enough said

  • Julian Alvarez— has started all 3 PL matches thus far in the KDB “SS/#10” role

  • Nicolas Jackson— got his first goal last week & looks raring to go. Playing NFO at home.

Midfielders

  • Mohamed Salah— at home to Villa who have conceded many goals (as long as he doesn’t leave Liverpool before the deadline…)

  • Bryan Mbeumo— at home vs. Bournemouth; Brentford’s talisman in Toney’s absence. On FKs & PKs.

  • Bukayo Saka— loves a game vs. United, is on PKs, & least droppable of the ARS midfielders.

  • Jarrod Bowen— plays Luton away, red hot form, great connection with Antonio.

  • Phil Foden— if he can get on the field vs. Fulham at home there’s potential for points.

  • James Maddison— Burnley (A), been in red-hot form as of late!

Defenders

  • Pinnock— home to BOU, potential for a clean sheet, huge aerial threat

  • Chilwell— one of the best attacking DEFs in the game. Gets into threatening positions up the pitch. Playing NFO at home.

  • Udogie— Burnley at home, getting high up the pitch in attack, cheap.

  • Palace defender— Wolves at home & aren’t conceding much. Cheap as well!

Goalkeepers

  • Ederson— pricey but has FUL (H), WHU (A), NFO (H), WOL (A)

  • Vicario— BUR (A), Sheffield (H)

  • Sanchez 🤨 — NFO (H), BOU (A) coming up… although Chelsea have been shaky in defense…
